New Partnership with The Bistro

Missouri Slope Areawide United Way partners The Bistro to provide over 800 meals to homeless and struggling community members in May 2020.

On #GivingTuesdayNow, thanks to an anonymous donor, MSA United Way is excited to announce a new partnership with The Bistro. The Bistro is providing 50 meals a day, 4 days a week to expand feeding the homeless and people struggling in our community. MSA United Way will deliver to the homeless shelter, to people just placed into apartments from the shelter and Edwinton Place where so many former clients who are chronically homeless currently reside.

During this pandemic, it is MSA United Way’s goal to fill the gaps in services for the most vulnerable populations at imminent risk of hunger and homelessness due to health and economic impacts of the Coronavirus. The United Way’s Pandemic Relief Fund has been awarding grants to local agencies focusing on access to food, protecting the unsheltered, emergency assistance, and those working to break the cycle of poverty.

Individuals or businesses that are interested in supporting the United Way’s COVID-19 response effort can go to http://www.msauniteway.org/COVID-19 or can call the United Way office at 255.3601. Bistro diners will also be able to donate a meal to this project while frequenting The Bistro for their own meals. Through United Way, every dollar stays local and counts to assist in meeting the needs in our community.
