Job Title: RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Operations Director

Purpose: Direct, plan and coordinate the annual fundraising campaign in partnership with the Campaign Co-Chairs, Campaign Cabinet, and Executive Director. Develop strategies to provide a year-round visible presence to the community and other external stakeholders to create broad support for and awareness of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and lead resource development strategies, including annual fundraising and communication strategies for individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising activities, including events, major donor cultivation, and leadership giving programs
  • Assist Campaign Co-Chairs in the development of key strategies for the campaign. Lead the recruitment, training, and supervision of campaign volunteers (Campaign Cabinet). Work with leadership to develop a campaign calendar detailing activities and events for the campaign.
  • Provide weekly campaign status reports to cabinet members and leadership. Analyze giving and identify areas of opportunity for growth.
  • Direct and assist in the development, assembly and delivery of necessary annual campaign materials, including physical and online pledge cards, brochures, posters, flyers, targeted messaging via direct mailings and social media, and handouts to support the campaign and year- round United Way programs. Schedule presentations and tours to connect donors to the impact of United Way.
  • Develop and cultivate new and existing donors. Manage a portfolio of accounts to increase participation, average giving, leadership giving, and overall year-round engagement with United Way. Develop Business Plans for key workplace campaigns.
  • Participate with campaign volunteers in calling on key accounts as assigned. Personally initiate and cultivate relationships that will enhance the connection and lifetime loyalty to United Way. Grow and track performance for each workplace campaign, individual, and prospect group.
  • Oversee development and implementation of solicitation of corporate sponsorships.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of grant applications.
  • Direct the completion and retention of campaign records. Work with the Operations Director to ensure that all pledges are recorded accurately. Develop campaign summaries.
  • Lead the review of the campaign success and opportunities. Analyze churn rate. Develop recommendations for future improvement.
  • Live and represent the United Way mission, vision and values.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, non-profit management, or a related field. Five years of experience in sales, marketing, public relations or fundraising preferred. Proven successful competencies needed: Relationship Building; Presentation Skills; Communication Skills, oral and written; Problem Solving; Self-motivated; Analytical.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
