Mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 3, 2024 and check out http://msaunitedway.galaxydigital.com/aem/general/event/?doc_id=5544 in May to see the great projects this year

WHAT IS DAY OF CARING?

Day of Caring was established to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism, increase the awareness of local human service agencies and demonstrate how people working together for the good of the community can accomplish great things.

Volunteers work in collaboration with United Way partner agencies, other social service organizations, civic agencies, private non-profit agencies, and neighbors in need throughout the Bismarck-Mandan community. Participating organizations are matched with volunteers who choose to donate their time and talents to address our community’s needs.

In 2023:
  • 827 community volunteers pitched in, investing 3,129 hours in our community
  • 51 local projects for individuals, non-profits, parks, and schools were completed throughout Bismarck-Mandan and surrounding communities
  • Thousands in savings can be reinvested into life-changing community programs and organizations
  • 98 local businesses pitched in to support the event through sponsorships, in-kind donations, and providing employees a paid volunteer day

HOW CAN I HELP?

Help Organize a Project, Volunteer or become a Day of Caring sponsor.

The generosity and dedication of every volunteer makes Day of Caring possible. You can organize a team from your workplace or register as an individual. Sign up for volunteers coming soon! Whether you want to be a leader or a helper, every volunteer helps us achieve our goal!

A Site Coordinator is an organized staff member who takes on a leadership role in organizing and coordinating a Day of Caring project. They will ensure that materials, water, food, and supplies are available for the volunteers at the project site.

A Team Captain is a volunteer who is in contact with the site coordinator and the volunteers before the day of the event. They will inform their group of volunteers about what they should wear, bring for supplies, and prepare for the work ahead.

They both work together for the success of the project!

Are you interested in becoming a Day of Caring Sponsor? With your support, we can provide breakfast, T-shirts, and an end-of-day celebration for our hard-working volunteers!

SUGGEST A PROJECT OR HAVE SPECIAL SKILLS

Day of Caring is an incredible opportunity to tackle large and small projects. But not every project is a good fit. Please review the project guidelines and considerations before submitting a project proposal. Day of Caring projects are dependent upon the generosity of our community. We are always looking for skilled individuals, equipment, project materials and lunch for our volunteer.
